Welcome everyone to the first edition of the CLASH Wrestling Insider, written by yours truly, Nicholas P. Clashertone! In this column, I hope to bring my insightful wit to the masses and provide you great fans yet another reason to visit clashwrestling.com.
Spring has sprung which means it’s almost my most favorite time of the year. It’s almost time for 16 tag teams from around the globe to converge for a two day tournament to crown CLASH Tag Team Champions. It’s almost time for the 2009 Nicholas P. Clashertone Invitational (NPCI) Tag Team Tournament!
CLASH Wrestling and I plan to outdo ourselves with year’s tournament. The competition is bigger, faster, stronger; more well traveled and tested. We’ve already announced the first two teams to gain entry into this prestigious tournament, and both of them are current Tag Team Champions. First, we have the CLASH Wrestling Tag Team Champions of GQ & Rave, The Friends. The Friends have had a great year and without question have to be one of the top picks to win this year’s NPCI. Second we have the Chikara Campeons De Parejas, The Osirian Portal of Ophidian & Amassis. The Portal have really hit their stride as a team and would love to add the CLASH Tag Team Championships to their growing resume of accomplishments.
The next two teams to gain entry into the 2009 NPCI will be determined this Saturday night, when CLASH Wrestling presents our yearly fundraising event, Fight Against Cancer II at the Game On Sports Center in Taylor, MI. At the event, we will see the return of the CLASH Rampage Match, where two teams of four will compete in an elimination style bout. Whichever team survives gains themselves entry into the 2009 NPCI! It will be the team of SR17 (Van Envy & Kris Konflict) teaming with Family Fusion (Keith Calhoun & Jason Collins w/ Mathew Collins) vs. the duos of Danny Danger & Josh Thor and Tyler Elkins & Khameleon!
Plans are to announce more teams for the NPCI in the days and the weeks to come right here exclusively on clashwrestling.com, via this column & NPCI specific webisodes. Expect the first NPCI webisode to be released early next week. In it, you’ll hear from another NPCI team, comprised of a young Canadian fresh from competing in Chikara’s 2008 Young Lions Cup. I’ve been told he’s found himself a partner, and they’re coming for the gold.
In the meantime, stay tuned to our site for all CLASH Wrestling related news and I hope to see you all this Saturday at Fight Against Cancer II. It’s going to be a whole day of fun and all proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Kudos to Melanie Libra for organizing such a great event.
Well, I have an ice cream shop to go purchase……
I’ll save that for another column.
