Wrestler Spotlight: “Role Model” Jack Night

June 2, 2009

CLASH Wrestling’s ringside photographer R. Drew returns with his fourth “Wrestler Spotlight,” this time with the former CLASH Champion, Jack Night. Drew attempts to get into the head of the now Tag Team Championship focused “Role Model” heading into the upcoming 2009 NPCI on June 19th & 20th. Get a better understanding of the Jack Night as he steps into the “Wrestler Spotlight!”

R.DREW: Will Nightlife become the next CLASH Wrestling Tag Team Champions?
JACK NIGHT: The answer is quite simple. Yes, we will be become the next Tag Team Champions.

R.DREW: Who is the bigger partier when you got out to the night clubs you, Manzo or B?
JACK NIGHT: I thought that would be obvious, I’m usually still partying when I come walking out to the ring. As far as partying goes, there is no one that can hang with Jack Night.

R.DREW: Why did you decide to wrestle for CLASH instead of a local promotion in your hometown of New York City?
JACK NIGHT: I came to CLASH for a change of atmosphere, something different as opposed to the same, never-ending action in New York City.

R.DREW: Is Jack Night the most dominant force in the CLASH Wrestling locker room?
JACK NIGHT: I thought that was obvious. If you’re assuming that people like Wreckingball, Kreed, Skyy, or any other piece of trash in that locker room is a more of a dominant force than Jack Night, you’re dead wrong.

R.DREW: Why did you become a wrestler? Who were/are some of your influences?
JACK NIGHT: My influences are actually some of the greatest wrestlers in history. I’ve always admired the work of Ric Flair and nothing would make me happier that to take him out, in my ring.

R.DREW: Beer or liquor?
JACK NIGHT: What kind of dumb question is that, beer or liquor? Drew, I drink both, sometimes even together.

R.DREW: Did you ever want to do anything else with your life other than wrestling?
JACK NIGHT: One thing: Party.

R.DREW: Do you have any superstitions, or things you must do before each match?
JACK NIGHT: Well I’m usually sporting a hangover before each match, so I end up having a blood mary just to mellow out. It gets me in a better mood before I go out to the ring.

R.DREW- What’s your favorite match thus far in your CLASH career?
JACK NIGHT: Winning the CLASH Championship, that was a good match. Seeing as I drink quite a bit no other match stands out to me.

R.DREW: What’s the best moment of your career thus far?
JACK NIGHT: Best moment of my career? There are plenty of them. Like when I was hammered, or that time I beat the hell out of Rave and his little girlfriend. Or even better, the time I heroicly beat Cameron Skyy to win the CLASH Championship. Drew, my career is far from over and I will have plenty more “best” moments. In my eyes, the best moment of my career will be when I retire and no longer have to listen to those dumb fans.

March 24, 2009

CLASH Wrestling’s ringside photographer R. Drew returns with his third “Wrestler Spotlight,” this time with the CLASH Champion, “Ace High” Cameron Skyy. Drew attempts to get into the head of the two time champion heading into his huge championship match vs. Dragon Kreed this weekend. Get a better understanding of the “Ace High” as Cameron Skyy steps into the “Wrestler Spotlight!”

R.DREW: What was sweeter, winning the championship for the first time or the second?
SKYY: Well, the first time always is special. However, the second win is most definitely more cherishable to me considering the wild roller coaster ride of events between Jack Night and I leading to Seize The Day II.

R.DREW: What has been the greatest moment of your career thusfar?
SKYY: January 5, 2008 (Seize The Day). It was my first event with CLASH Wrestling, and my match opened up the show to qualify to get into the main event. Concluded in my first title win. However, just the pre-match jitters before I went out the CLASH Curtain for the first time was memorable to me.

R.DREW: Do you have any superstitions, or things you must do before a match?
SKYY: Before a match, you can find me in the back doing my push-ups, squats, and getting myself mentally prepared to shoot out that curtain.

R.DREW: What drew you to CLASH Wrestling?
SKYY: CLASH harbors some of the best talent here in Michigan. It’s important in life to challenge yourself, hence the reason why I joined this company.

R.DREW: At what point in your life did you know you wanted to be a professional wrestler?

SKYY: In the womb…just kidding. But, seriously, I was doing elbow drops to my mother when she was pregnant with my sister around 4 years of age. Always watched it since then, had many role models, and well my curiosity for the business led me into it.

R.DREW: What did you want to do, before you decided to go into pro wrestling?

SKYY: Well, we all have goals, and even today I’m still pursuing those that are not wrestling-related. I majored in Communications, and minored in Marketing, I always wanted to get into the Marketing aspect of a business which would hopefully lead me to doing something with professional wrestling. However instead of Marketing it, I just became one, ha!

R.DREW: What do you do when your not wrestling, or preparing for a match?

SKYY: I’m in the gym 4-5 days a week for 2-3 hours each day. Spend time with friends, poker parties and livin’ it up!

R.DREW: CLASH turned 1 year old in January, give me one word to describe your feelings, being that you’ve been here since day one?

SKYY: Exhilarating

R.DREW: What type of music you listen to?

SKYY: Mostly Rock and Alternative.

R.DREW: Do you have a favorite food?
SKYY: I eat ALOT of Subway.

R.DREW: What’s your favorite CLASH event thus far?

SKYY: This past January in Mt. Clemens was a hell of a ride. A whole new area, large venue, and tons of people.

R.DREW: Do you have a favorite match?
SKYY: I would say both matches from both respective Seize The Day events were my favorite. Not only due to both title wins, but both matches in general from the Fatal Four Way in ‘08, and my bout with Jack Night in ‘09 were both great matches.

SWAGG STARR: Because this is Dave Manzo in his true form. Yeah he is still the athlete that the All American was, but his collegiate and semi-pro sports years are done with, and his main focus is now club/bar hoppin, pickin up the ladies, and havin a few cocktails.

R.DREW: What do you do when your not in the ring, or training for a match?
SWAGG STARR: Outside the squared circle, or the swagged circle as I call it, I’m gettin my swell on at the gym, to keep my body lookin finess, and at night I’m in the top bars/clubs around the country. Living the dream of being the sexiest and swaggest man in the world.

SWAGG STARR: Hockey, yoga, makin music, pickin up any girl I choose, and shopping for the best clothing money can buy, at the best stores in the world.

SWAGG STARR: Rap, Hip-Hop, and R&B,  the only music that matters.

R.DREW: Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
SWAGG STARR: Tupac Shakur. He was a genius, an entrepreneur, and the best rapper to have ever lived. He was the definition of having Swagger before it was kool.

R.DREW: At what age did you know you wanted to become a pro wrestler? Who were some of the wrestlers who influenced your career?
SWAGG STARR: I knew I wanted to become a pro wrestler at age 13. I was a premiere hockey player all my life, but I had a passion for wrestling. Some wrestlers that influenced me were, Eddie Guerrero, Owen Hart, Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair.

R.DREW: Do you have any superstitions, or things you must do before a match?
SWAGG STARR: I must do my hair, put on my Oakley stunner shades, and put on one of my many expensive Calvin Klein, Armani, Banana Republic ect. suits that are in my closet.

R.DREW: Do you have a favorite match?
SWAGG STARR: All the ones I’m in, because I am the most amazing wrestler in the business, hands down.

R.DREW: How about your favorite opponent?
SWAGG STARR: The Green Ranger, because he’s a hell of a wrestler, a jam-up guy, and a serious professional. Now all he needs is to buy some new gear, and he’ll actually be worthy enough to step in the ring with me.

SWAGG STARR: Seize The Day I, being in the opening match of the first ever CLASH Wrestling show on January 5th, 2008.

SWAGG STARR: Well first of all, you and everybody else will now call him ”B”. He is my personal image consultant & swag coach, and my best wingman for the nightlife. I’ve known B for 7 years. Now do your job monkey, and ”bow down” to your ”Royal Swaggness”! I’m out,  deuces.
