CLASH Insider Previews The 3rd Annual Triple Crown Cup!
March 25, 2010
Less than 72 hours away from the 3rd Annual Triple Crown Cup Tournament and we at CLASHWRESTLING.COM have a number of topics to cover concerning this Saturday’s event. Competitors have been removed from the show, others have been added, and a few matches have changed along the way. What remains is, without question, the strongest Triple Crown Cup lineup in CLASH Wrestling history and a number of exciting non-tournament matches. Tickets are available, at discounted rates, right now on our merchandise page. Get yours before it’s too late!
WHAT IS THE TRIPLE CROWN CUP TOURNAMENT?
The Triple Crown Cup is a unique tournament where 9 men are split into 3 opening round triple threat matches. Making the first round bouts even more interesting is the fact that the competitors are drawn at random. It’s every man for himself, there are no friends, no allies, no chance for preparation.
The 3 winners from the opening round then meet in a final three way dance to crown a winner. In the past, Triple Crown Cup winners received a prestigious Trophy in addition to $3,333.33 in cold hard cash. This year, the prize is even greater. The winner of The Triple Crown Cup will receive a CLASH Heavyweight Championship title shot at Age Of Allegiance in April.
This year’s TCC entrants are a literal who’s who of CLASH Wrestling. Former TCC winners Tommy Treznik (2008) & The Wreckingball (2009) are only 2 of the men entered. Former CLASH Champions Dragon Kreed & Tyler Elkins, along with former CLASH Tag Team Champions GQ & J. Miller will also partake in the tournament. Rounding out the field is Will Vendetta, Brandon Edwards and the debuting World Champion from Puerto Rico, Noriega.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE “ACE HIGH”?
With the TCC tournament crowning a new #1 contender to the CLASH Championship, one must wonder how the current holder of the gold, “Ace High” Cameron Skyy must feel. What are Skyy’s intentions? Does CLASH CEO Truth Martini have something in mind for the titleholder on Saturday night?
THE FIRST WOMEN’S MATCH IN CLASH WRESTLING HISTORY!
CLASH Wrestling is proud to announce that Saturday’s event will feature the first ever women’s match in CLASH Wrestling history when Mena Libra takes on Randi West. Both of these women are accomplished athletes and would love to walk out victorious in this historic match.
OTHER NON-TOURNAMENT ACTION
In a non-title match, CLASH Tag Team Champions Nightlife will square off against the duo of Hammett 450 & Billy Star. While CLASH fans are no stranger to Jack Night & Dave Manzo, they’ve yet to see Hammett & Star in action. Combining strong mat skills with a high flying arsenal of maneuvers, these two Hispanic grapplers may have what it takes to defeat the current champions.
Rounding out the event is a match of polar opposites when 13 year veteran Keith Calhoun faces CLASH rookie Austin Manix. It’s old school vs. new school, veteran vs. rookie, which begs the question: who will walk out victorious is this bout?
So to recap, what do we have to look forward to on Saturday?
- A new Triple Crown Cup Winner will be crowned
- A new #1 Contender to the CLASH Championship will be awarded
- The first ever Women’s Match in CLASH Wrestling history
- A number of debuting wrestlers! Noriega, Hammett 450, Billy Star, Mena Libra & Randi West
All this and much, much more will go down on Saturday night at the Triple Crown Cup Tournament, making this a show you absolutely DO NOT want to miss! Buy your tickets now & save! See you Saturday night!
