Nicholas P. Compares Downriver Revolution 08 & 09
July 23, 2009
Welcome all to the latest edition of the CLASH Insider! I’m Nicholas P. Clashertone, your favorite executive and master of the written word. There’s lots to cover this week, so let’s dive right in. Did you realize we are just 48 hours away from Downriver Revolution? This Saturday is shaping up to be an absolutely huge event. It’s our return to the Game On Sports Center and we will crown not only a new owner of the Consolation Prize, but a new CLASH Champion!
Quick note for those wondering why Nightlife did not gain entry into the Consolation Prize Battle Royal: I said in my last column that myself & Jeremy Jones would find a way to punish Dave Manzo & Jack Night for crashing my birthday party a few weeks ago, and not competing in this prestigious match sounds like a fitting punishment. Next time you slap me across the face, consider the consequences guys, “Don’t Cross The Boss!”
Moving on, for this week’s column, I thought it would be fun to take a look at the 7 participants on Saturday’s event who also competed in last year’s Downriver Revolution. (There’s actually 9 men, but I’m not going to talk about Dave Manzo & Jack Night: I’m still bitter, but I’m getting over it.) Who has climbed the CLASH ladder of success? Who has fallen down a few rungs? Let’s discuss & analyze: NICKY P. STYLE!
“THE MURDEROUS MONK” J. MILLER
Downriver Revolution 2008: vs. Cameron Skyy (CLASH Championship: Ladder Match)
Downriver Revolution 2009: vs. Tommy Tydie (CLASH Championship)
A year has gone by and J. Miller finds himself in the same position he did last year: that is, challenging for the CLASH Championship. Longtime fans will never forget Miller’s performance last year, as the Murderous Monk nearly crippled himself in his pursuit of the CLASH Championship. This year, there’s no ladder, but Miller faces arguably his biggest challenge ever, former friend & tag team partner Tommy Tydie. It’s taken a year, but Miller is back atop the CLASH mountain, literally 3 seconds away from becoming only the 4th man in history to earn the right to be called CLASH Champion.
“THE MAN’S MAN” TOMMY TYDIE
Downriver Revolution 2008: vs. Will Vendetta (Parking Lot Brawl)
Downriver Revolution 2009: vs. J. Miller (CLASH Championship)
This time last year, Tydie was in the middle of a lengthy rivalry with Will Vendetta, which culiminated in the now-infamous Parking Lot Brawl. Both men took to the streets, destroying property and lighting the car of now-CEO Jeremy Jones on fire. Since then, Tydie has become a 4 time Tag Team Champion and is a former winner of the Triple Crown Cup. All of this pales in comparison to the challenge awaiting Tydie on Saturday night. Downriver Revolution is, without question, the biggest night in the history of “The Man’s Man” career. If he can defeat his former best friend & H3RD member J. Miller, Tydie will accomplish his lifelong goal of becoming CLASH Champion.
“ACE HIGH” CAMERON SKYY
Downriver Revolution 2008: vs. J. Miller (CLASH Championship: Ladder Match)
Downriver Revolution 2009: vs. Rave Killbourn, Consolation Prize Battle Royal
The only multiple-time CLASH Champion in history, Cameron Skyy was only a few months into his now legendary 10 month title reign going into last year’s Downriver Revolution. At the conclusion of last year’s event, Cameron walked out of CLASH’s first ever ladder match with the Championship on his shoulder. Recently, Cameron has become obsessed with the title, turning his back on his friends & fans in hopes reclaiming the top spot in the CLASH hierarchy. Skyy gets his chance at redemption on Saturday night. A victory over Rave Killbourn and a win in the Consolation Prize Battle Royal would go a very long way in cementing Cameron’s spot as the next challenger to the CLASH Championship.
RAVE KILLBOURN
Downriver Revolution 2008: vs. Jack Night (Last Man Standing Match)
Downriver Revolution 2009: vs. Cameron Skyy, Consolation Prize Battle Royal
I like to think last year’s Downriver Revolution event was the beginning of the next chapter in Rave Killbourn’s career; he concluded his 4 month rivalry with Jack Night with a resounding victory, crashing through a table from the top rope to the floor. Since then, Killbourn has become one of the most loved wrestlers in all of CLASH and a 3 time Tag Team Champion with his friend GQ Assassin. Saturday night is Rave’s chance to prove to everyone that like last year, he can succeed on his own.
GQ ASSASSIN
Downriver Revolution 2008: vs. Dave Manzo (Home Run Derby Challenge)
Downriver Revolution 2009: vs. Khameleon, Consolation Prize Battle Royal
Like Rave Killbourn, GQ Assassin has found his most success in CLASH Wrestling in two ways as one half of a Tag Team. Last year, GQ took part in Dave Manzo’s then-speciality match, the Home Run Derby Challenge. This year, GQ is not a part of a heated rivalry, but the opportunity for advancement is abundant. GQ will take on his former TPFAN (tag partner for a night) Khameleon, and challenge for the coveted Consolation Prize. If GQ ever had aspirations for singles success, Saturday night would be the perfect opportunity to let the world know.
KHAMELEON
Downriver Revolution 2008: vs. 6 Man Tag Match Featuring Dragon Kreed & Wreckingball
Downriver Revolution 2009: vs. GQ Assassin, Consolation Prize Battle Royal
What can be said about Khameleon’s performance at last year’s Downriver Revolution? At the conclusion of the match, the youngster had to be excited had hadn’t broken a bone r suffered ligament damage after facing Dragon Kreed & Wreckingball. While one may think the odds are just as stacked against Khameleon this year, you can’t forget that he does have experience on his side. A former winner of the CLASH Maskerade Match, Khameleon was granted one wish by Genie Jones (which he used to win the CLASH Tag Team Championships). The Consolation Prize works the same way: the holder gets any one wish to be granted at any place, at any time. Saturday night is Khameleon’s chance to once again get that wish, by winning the Consolation Prize Battle Royal.
WILL VENDETTA
Downriver Revolution 2008: vs. Tommy Tydie (Parking Lot Brawl)
Downriver Revolution 2009: vs. Colt Ryan, Consolation Prize Battle Royal
At last year’s Downriver Revolution, Will Vendetta leapt from a destroyed station wagon to steel and asphalt below to win the first and last ever Parking Lot Brawl. Some will argue, myself included, that this was the biggest win in Vendetta’s career. Will, with his newfound hard rock image, is looking for a similar career-boosting win. I personally can’t think of better (and quicker) way than defeating Colt Ryan & winning the Consolation Prize Battle Royal.
Wow, that took longer than I expected. See you next week!

John Striker Once Again Takes You “Pillar To Post”
July 21, 2009
Greetings once again from beautiful southeastern Michigan , where I’ve got CLASH on the brain. I invite you, my reader, to take a trip with me to examine that CLASH sitting atop my head as I take you Pillar to Post.
DRAGON’S BREATH
For those of you that didn’t attend our double shot weekend’s Friday Night Fury, you missed out on an epic moment that is sure to be a classic and make all the best of DVD’s. That momentous moment was none other than my in-ring debut! Oh, also Dragon Kreed relinquished the Clash Championship. I was going over some tape, preparing for CLASH RADIO as I always do when my cell phone rings. It’s none other than CEO Jeremy Jones. I figure he’s finally going to give me a raise but instead he says he needs me, practically pleads with me, to take the CLASH Heavyweight Title from Dragon Kreed at Friday Night Fury.
Obviously I’m the best man for the job. Yes, I’ll admit it was a bit intimidating standing in the ring with Dragon (which you can see on the latest CLASH in a Flash) but I had the determination, confidence, and executive board on my side. It also didn’t hurt my confidence that Dragon’s ‘Destroy and Conquer” arm was in a sling. In any event, let me be the first to say that Dragon’s size and intensity are a scary thing, and I have a new respect for anyone in CLASH that has the guts to step into that ring with him. Looking back now I have to wonder if Cowboy Jones had a family emergency at all. Maybe he was just too afraid, or ‘yellow’ to use his vernacular, to take that title from Kreed himself?
A THING OF BEAUTY
Aside from the corny start to their music, Beauty and the Beast were beyond impressive in their recent victory over CLASH Tag Team Champion Friends. Adam foolishly believes that Nightlife and BATB should face off in a number one contender’s match but from where I sit, beating the champions grants the number one contender spot automatically.
I know GQ and Rave and both are very proud men. I am sure that the loss does not sit well with them and would bet that they will address the situation this Saturday at the Game On Sports Center.
GET YOUR GAME ON
Speaking of Game On Sports Center, I have to admit I am glad to be back. The gymnasium atmosphere and ambiance of the place really lends itself to wrestling. The staff has been cool to me there, the crowd receptive and rowdy. Put all that together with a stacked card and a huge main event and you’ve got yourself one “must-see” show.
I am expecting big… no, make that huge things this Saturday that I know will shake the very foundation of CLASH Wrestling. In addition to expecting something about or involving the CLASH Tag Team Title situation, we’re also told to expect an announcement from Wreckingball, his career, future, and what happens to his ‘consolation prize’. If that weren’t enough, Tommy Tydie Vs. J. Miller for the CLASH Heavyweight Championship. Let me tell you now, it gets no bigger or better than this!
CLASH HISTORY 101
In the event that you’ve been living in a cave (perhaps with “Cave Man” Tyler Elkins), allow me to briefly discuss some of the sordid history between one Murderous Monk and one Man’s Man.
Tydie and Miller completed their wrestling training together. They wrestled as a tag team in Clash Wrestling for the better part of it’s history, winning the CLASH Tag Team Gold and having some of the most memorable matches in CLASH wrestling history.. They were as close knit a team as ever there was in CLASH and were even better friends outside of the ring.
That all changed when Tydie decided to let Wreckingball unleash a vicious attack on Miller that took him out of action for over two months. Miller was hurt physically, but much worse emotionally. He felt that Tydie betrayed him and, understandably, hated him for it. It didn’t take Tydie long to realize the error of his ways. He missed that tag team bond, knowing that someone had his back. He apologized for his actions, and while Miller moved on, he never really forgave Tydie.
This Saturday, any chance at a peaceful resolution to their problems seems impossible as Miller and Tydie are set to square off over the only trophy greater than their CLASH Tag Team Title victory, the apex of CLASH Wrestling, the CLASH Championship. Both men know each other inside and out. They know their moves, they know the way each other think. Usually in a match a wrestler has to either act, or react. In this match I think there will be no time. They won’t be able to act or react because their brains will be moving faster than their bodies will allow. Saturday, it will be a battle of pure instinct. These two former friends, former allies will face off in the biggest match of each of their careers and when the dust settles, when the smoke clears, we will have a new Champion of CLASH Wrestling. This is simply epic.
Before I go I’d just like to express my sadness that Marty Epps is leaving us as head referee. It’s tough to keep good referees these days. I like to think that I started the “oh, come on ref, that was three!” heckle but either way, I’d like to personally wish him well on whatever he does in his next stage in life.
See everyone who’s not a complete moron on Saturday. Until then just be grateful that today you went Pillar to Post and came out the better for it.
Take care.

Nicholas P. Returns With Another CLASH Insider
July 14, 2009
Welcome all to the latest edition of the CLASH Insider with your’s truly, Nicholas P. Clashertone! I’m a little bit older, a lotta bit wiser, and ready to discuss a number of topics concerning our great company. I apologize for going AWOL the last couple of weeks, but with so much going on with the 2009 NPCI and my birthday bash (more later), things have just now settled down in the ‘Tone Home. But I’m back and better than ever, and I’ve been told I have a knack for making things better…
Was last weekend fun or what? Two huge CLASH Wrestling live events took place on back and back nights, and the action was off the charts! I’d like to personally thank everyone who made it out to our shows this past weekend. There’s a ton of news stories coming out of Friday & Saturday night, but the biggest of them all has to be that concerning the CLASH Championship.
We are less than two weeks away from a match I personally cannot wait to see: J. Miller vs. Tommy Tydie for the CLASH Championship! Tydie & Miller have reached the top of the tag team mountain together on 3 separate occassions, in fact they’ve battled alongside one another for the better part of two years. On Saturday night, July 25th this all changes, no longer will the careers of Tydie & Miller be intertwined. One man will distance himself from his former friend and partner when he becomes the new CLASH Champion. Who’s your pick to win? Perhaps never before has there been a more evenly matched CLASH Championship Match. The former H3RD teammates have trained together, lived together, worked together. They know each other’s moves and countermoves. It will truly be a battle of human chess when these two men square off at the Game On Sports Center in Taylor, MI.
Over the course of the last few months, CLASH fans have grown to cheer and support both men, so it should be interesting to see the reaction each man recieves on July 25th. CLASH fans have waited patiently for either Tydie or Miller to fully reach their potential and go for the “big one”. How ironic is it that both men have reached that point at the same time, and the only person standing in their way is one another?
At Friday Night Fury, CLASH Champion Dragon Kreed was forced to relinquish his title due to injury. Dragon expressed his true, heartfelt emotions and how can you not feel for the guy? Kreed literally spent the last 6-9 months training and waiting for his moment to become champion. Dragon pushed his body and mind to limits I’m not sure even he himself thought were possible, and just when he was able to enjoy the fruits of his labor, tradegy strikes. Kreed expressed his frustration to everyone in the Taylor Town Trade Center. He made it a point to tell everyone his intentions once he returns from injury. I witnessed the passion and feriocity in Dragon’s eyes in person and I know he means every word he spoke on Friday night. If I were Tyler Elkins or Cameron Skyy, I’d be sure to watch my back for the forseeable future.
Dragon Kreed is unfortunately no longer alone on the injured list as Wreckingball suffered torn ligaments and tendons in his ankle during a bout on Friday night. Like in the case of Dragon Kreed, the injury could not come at a worse time for Wreckingball as he was just granted the Consolation Prize for winning the CPGI. The prize is rumored to be an unsigned contract, and it’s owner can use it on any match at any time. There’s no word yet as to who or how a new prize winner will be determined, although you can count the Wreckingball out of the running, as he will be shelved for 2-3 months at the least.
It was only a matter of time before someone was able to put a dent in the Friends armor. GQ & Rave have been untouchable since winning the Tag Team Championship for a third time in March of this year. Nightlife, Osirian Portal, even the H3RD have been unable to defeat the Tag Champs in recent months. The Friends tag dominance came to a halt on Saturday night as Ontario’s Beauty & The Beast defeated the Tag Champs in a Non-Title encounter. After the bout, B&TB’s Ethan Page challenged the Friends to a Tag Team Championship Match, citing their victory as their claim to #1 Contendership. Myself & Jeremy Jones have reviewed the tape and despite the nature of their victory (the referee’s call is final), have granted Beauty & The Beast a title opportunity. Beauty & The Beast have promised to name the date of their Tag Team Championship Match on an upcoming webisode of CLASH In A Flash.
Nicholas P’s. Five Random Thoughts For The Week:
- I’d like to personally wish CLASH official Marty Epps the best of luck in his future endevours. Marty has decided not to renew his referee’s license and therefore has officiated his last match. This youngster has spent the better part of two years with a proverbial front row seat to some of finest wrestlers in the world and I personally hope he somehow applies that education to the wrestling business.
- A major thumbs down goes to Nightlife for spoiling my birthday bash a few days ago. Jack Night took upon himself to slap me across the face numerous times, whilst Dave Manzo suggested I “taste it.” No thanks, I’ll pass. I’ve already began discussions with Jeremy Jones on a suiting punishment for these party-crashing jocks.
- Blue Ranger never looked better than this past Friday night when he & The Friends took on the trio of Colt Ryan & Nightlife. The action that took place in that match was some of the funniest I’ve ever seen in a professional wrestling ring. GQ & Rave must’ve stayed up all night watching “Weekend At Bernies” for offensive insipiration.
- Tyler Elkins & Will Vendetta traded victories over one another this past weekend. Something tells me there’s more to this rivalry than meets the eye. I’ve been told by more than a few in the locker room that Vendetta’s rockstar ways have always rubbed the bearded brute the wrong way.
- I’m happy to announce that a number of NPCI competitors will be returning to a CLASH ring on the weekend of August 7th & 8th. Chikara’s Create-A-Wrestler, Josh Thor, Beauty & The Beast, Logan Savage, and Fast & Fabulous are just a few of the many men who have already signed on to take part in our huge back to back weekend. Expect even more competitors (including men making their CLASH in-ring debuts) to be announced in the days and weeks to come!
That’s all for this week!
Nicholas P.
