CLASH News Flash For June 30, 2009: First and foremost, special thanks to those who made it out to the special Free Event hosted at McCaffery’s this past weekend as part of the Downriver Dream Cruise!  Many updates to fill you in on as CLASH Wrestling has added many dates to its Summer 2009 Calendar and many more news stories NPCI-related this week. First, lets give you the newly added Double-Date as CLASH invades the TaylorTown Trade Center twice in one weekend!

QUEST FOR THE WORLD TITLE BEGINS…
As mentioned in last week’s news flash, Current CLASH Champion DRAGON KREED is now officially sidelined for 4-6 months after having surgery to repair his shoulder which was damaged by CAMERON SKYY & TYLER ELKINS on 6/6. Unfortunate for KREED, more than 30 days have passed with no competition and he is forced to relinquish the belt on Friday 7/10 in Taylor, MI.

So the hunt begins, 4 men have been selected in the run for the belt. On FRIDAY, 7/10, you’ll see J. MILLER take on his adversary THE WRECKINGBALL. On SATURDAY, 7/11, TOMMY TYDIE will clash with CAMERON SKYY! The winners of these two matches will then face off on 7/25 at the Game On Sports Center in Taylor, MI for the CLASH Championship!

There are multiple variables in both of these combinations as the CLASH Championship has eluded three of these men, meanwhile CAMERON SKYY looks to make a 3rd run as Champion. How about the H3RD; we may very well see these two culminate in the finals against one another! Lastly, don’t count out the biggest man in CLASH Wrestling – THE WRECKINGBALL who just won the 2009 Consolation Prize at NPCI? What is that prize and who will advance – Find out this weekend in TAYLOR, MI!

WHAT’S NEXT FOR THE FRIENDS & THE TAG TEAM TITLES
THE FRIENDS (GQ ASSASSIN & RAVE KILLBOURN) are hot off a huge victory over 15 other teams at the 2009 NPCI. Fans witnessed many great teams clash for the gold, many of which will return to action over the next few weeks. Who will take on the most prestigious Tag Team in CLASH Wrestling? We know NIGHT-LIFE (DAVE MANZO & JACK NIGHT w/ B) came very close by making it to the NPCI Finals! On Friday, 7/10 however, both NIGHT-LIFE and the returning BEAUTY & THE BEAST (ETHAN PAGE & SRC) will be in the house looking for bitter sweet revenge… Keep on CLASHWRESTLING.COM for the updated match listing going into this Back 2 Back weekend!

This past weekend, CLASH Wrestling was invited to participate at the 10th Annual Cruisin’ Downriver Event!  Just as last years event earned CLASH Wrestling recognition on the front page of the News Herald…this year Local 4 News touched on the event live from McCaffery’s Lounge in Lincoln Park, Michigan!  Special thanks and appreciation to those that came and checked out the action!

CLASH News Flash For June 23, 2009: Thanks for tuning in this week and special thanks to those that were in attendance for the 2009 Nicholas P. Clashertone Invitational (NPCI) Tag Team Tournament!  THE FRIENDS outlasted 15 other teams from around the globe to retain the CLASH Tag Team Championship in some of the best competitive matches CLASH Wrestling has ever seen!  Many things to cover this week, however let’s fill you in a HUGE event coming your way in less than 3 weeks…

GRAPPLEGANZA

THE FRIENDS WIN 2009 NPCI!
This past weekend, teams from around the globe including: The Friends, H3RD, Osirian Portal, Fast & Fabulous, Night-Life, Team Chikara, Create-A-Tag Team, Faith In Nothing, Wreckless Youth, Skyy & Elkins, The In Crowd, Beauty & The Beast, Danny Danger & Josh Thor, Savage & York, and finally The Power Rangers; all did battle for the coveted CLASH Tag Team Championship!  However, THE FRIENDS (GQ ASSASSIN/RAVE KILLBOURN) stood tall above the rest last defeating H3RD, OSIRIAN PORTAL, & NIGHT-LIFE in the final four corners elimination.  THE FRIENDS have been on a hot streak & have proven to be a solid stable in CLASH Wrestling with their current title reign stemming from March this year.  After conquering such a huge victory at NPCI, what team will stand up to one of the most prestigious teams in CLASH History?

H3RD ENDS AFTER NPCI
  Although H3RD (TOMMY TYDIE / J.MILLER) were not victorious at NPCI, they were the runners up in the NPCI next to THE FRIENDS.  As the H3RD tagged so well throughout the tournament, one would think the two could let past baggage go, however it was J. MILLER who refused TYDIE’s apology/invitation to continue with the H3RD.  It appears that one of the most decorated Tag Teams of CLASH Wrestling has laid to rest as of 2009 NPCI.  Find out what’s next for both TOMMY TYDIE & J. MILLER as we move into GRAPPLEGANZA on 7/11!

DRAGON KREED OUT FOR 4-6 MONTHS
Injured at FOR THE WIN on 6/6 by CAMERON SKYY & TYLER ELKINS, current CLASH Champion DRAGON KREED did have successful surgery on his right shoulder on Monday, June 15th.  As seen on 6/19 Day 1 of NPCI, KREED came out in a sling to distract SKYY & ELKINS from advancing.  Unfortunately for KREED, with the CLASH Championship belt still around his waist, he will be forced to relinquish the belt after a 30 Day No-Compete which will come to a head on July 6th.  This means that on GRAPPLEGANZA on 7/11/09, the CLASH Championship will be vacated off of the waist of DRAGON KREED and it will be up to the CLASH Board of Directors on how to proceed in crowning a new champion.

WRECKINGBALL WINS CONSOLATION PRIZE GAUNTLET INVITATIONAL @ NPCI
As part of Day 2 of NPCI, those that did not advance in the Tag Team tournament took part in a special 13-man CONSOLATION PRIZE GAUNTLET INVITATIONAL in which WRECKINGBALL walked out victorious last eliminating SAVAGE & CAMERON SKYY.  The prize to which is still unknown will be unveiled at GRAPPLEGANZA on 7/11 in TAYLOR, MI!

“THE ROCKER” RETURNS TO CLASH WRESTLING
On 8/22, CLASH WRESTLING makes its return in grand fashion to the GIBRALTAR TRADE CENTER in MT. CLEMENS, MICHIGAN!  On hand for this special return, will be “The Rocker” Marty Jannetty as he returns since making his debut in March this year at Triple Crown Cup!  More signed matches will be available as we draw closer!

This past weekend, CLASH Wrestling presented our 2nd annual NPCI (Nicholas P. Clashertone Invitational) Tag Team Tournament and what a show it was, as 16 teams from across the globe came together for one weekend only! We witnessed perhaps the best in ring action in CLASH’s history on Friday & Saturday night and below are the results to both shows. Expect tons of photos, videos, columns, and a new CLASH Radio on the NPCI to be released later this week!

2009 NPCI Night #1 (Friday, June 19th 2009)

Wreckingball defeated Khameleon in a non-tournament bout.

NPCI Tag Team Tournament Round #1 Matches
- Friends (GQ Assassin & Rave Killbourn) defeated Team Chikara (Frightmare & Klondike Kremlin)
- Create-A-Tag Team (Create-A-Wrestler & Tuck Hanson) defeated Fast & Fabulous (Kristian Frost & Chris Camaro)
- Danny Danger & Josh Thor defeated The In Crowd (Ace Martino & John E. OC)
- Beauty & The Beast (Ethan Page & NRC) defeated The Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers
- Nightlife (Dave Manzo & Jack Night) defeated Savage & Son (Alex York & Savage)
- Osirian Portal (Ophidian & Amasis) defeated SR17 (Van Envy & Kris Konflict)
- H3RD (J. Miller & Tommy Tydie) defeated Faith In Nothing (Christian Faith & Vincent Nothing)
- Reckless Youth (Will Vendetta & Lance Winston) defeated Cameron Skyy & Tyler Elkins after a distraction from CLASH Champion Dragon Kreed.

2009 NPCI Night #2 (Saturday, June 20th 2009)

NPCI Tag Team Tournament Round #2 Matches
- Osirian Portal defeated Reckless Youth to advance to the finals.
- H3RD defeated Danny Danger & Josh Thor to advance to the finals. After the match, Danny Danger announced this was his last match in CLASH Wrestling before Josh Thor destroyed his partner with 3 Thorarms.
- Nightlife defeated Create-A-Tag Team to advance to the finals.
- Friends defeated Beauty & The Beast to advance to the finals.

Wreckingball defeated Cameron Skyy, Frightmare, Tyler Elkins, Klondike Kremlin, Blue Ranger, Green Ranger, Chris Camaro, Kristian Frost, Keith Calhoun, Alex York, Savage & Khameleon to win the 20009 CPGI (Consolation Prize Gauntlet Invitational).

NPCI Finals for the CLASH Wrestling Tag Team Championship
Friends defeated Nightlife, H3RD, and Osirian Portal to successfully retain their CLASH Wrestling Tag Team Championships. Order of elimination was as follows: Nightlife by Friends, Osirian Portal by H3RD, H3RD by Friends.
