- A NEW FACE OF CLASH WRESTLING – DRAGON KREED!

By far, the biggest story in CLASH Wrestling this week is the crowing of a NEW CLASH Heavyweight Champion, DRAGON KREED after he successfully defeated CAMERON SKYY via pinfall in Taylor, MI Gibraltar Trade Center on 3/29!  SKYY looked to zero in on KREED’s leg for a pathway to victory to keep the big man down, but KREED destroyed and conquered the “Ace High” and is now the reigning CLASH Title Holder!  However, don’t bet CAMERON SKYY out yet, as he has requested CLASH Wrestling to deal him his Championship Rematch which is a clause in his CLASH Contract.  Who’s face will be the FUTURE of CLASH Wrestling, SKYY vs. KREED (c)  II , amped with more plutonium to put this sucker into overload on 4/11!

- GOODBYE TEETH!

This past weekend, “The Murderous Monk” J. MILLER went in to Mt. Clemens, MI with a score to settle against Former H3RD Partner, “The Futur3″ MIKE DANIELS.  As MILLER made short work of DANIELS on Day 1 hitting his signature “GoodBye Tooth” Kick in the corner, the bigger challenge came on Day 2 in Taylor.  Injected into this match was a lethal dose of the WRECKINGBALL in Tag Action as DANIELS & WRECKINGBALL were able to defeat MILLER & TYLER ELKINS gaining the pinfall victory over MILLER.  Nonetheless, J. MILLER’s focus was to continually get at THE WRECKINGBALL which led to his defeat.  But, needless to say, this defeat didn’t hinder MILLER’s performance as he capitalized on nailing WRECKINGBALL with an 88 mile-an-hour “GOODBYE TOOTH” to send a message!

Both the WRECKINGBALL and J. MILLER will be in the same house on SATURDAY, 4/11 at TaylorTown Trade Center.  Who knows what will transpire at CLASH TO THE FUTURE as MILLER seeks his revenge for nearly having his career ended in January!  Find out on 4/11!

- FRIENDS CAPITALIZE ON DAY 1 – A NEW ALLIANCE ON DAY 2?

On DAY 1 of CLASH Wrestling’s BACK 2 BACK Weekend, the FRIENDS (GQ ASSASSIN / RAVE KILLBOURN) successfully retained their CLASH Tag Team Championships in an epic encounter against DANNY DANGER & JOSH THOR!  DAY 2 brought the FRIENDS singles competition as GQ defeated JACK NIGHT via DQ, however partner RAVE K suffered defeat by “SWAGG STARR” DAVE MANZO when partner in crime, B, slipped him a chain to aid to victory.  Unfortunately, the onslaught continued on KILLBOURN with JACK NIGHT at ringside decimating with MANZO until GQ ASSASSIN ran out for the save!  What do JACK NIGHT & DAVE MANZO have in common, is there an unknown alliance?  We’ll find out more on this developing story as it draws out on 4/11 in TAYLOR, MI!

- QUOTE THE RAVEN

Fans in Mt Clemens, MI witnessed RAVEN’s 3rd appearance in CLASH Wrestling as he scored a pinfall victory on THE WRECKINGBALL in a “Raven’s Rules” environment.  This victory of course was aided by J. MILLER who halted WRECKINGBALL’s attempt to squish RAVEN’s head between the two chairs (which took MILLER out for 2 months, and has paralyzed BLUE RANGER) by delivering a GOOD-BYE TOOTH followed by an “Even-Flow” DDT for the pin!

However, DAY 2, RAVEN was not so lucky, as PROMINENCE Member TOMMY TYDIE defeated RAVEN via pinfall to set his record straight from his loss in November to the ECW Legend.  What is next for TOMMY TYDIE?  Is he still in the quest for the World Title that has illuded him in his career, he will display his plans at CLASH TO THE FUTURE!

Column: “Wrestler Spotlight” w/ R.Drew & Cameron Skyy

March 24, 2009

CLASH Wrestling’s ringside photographer R. Drew returns with his third “Wrestler Spotlight,” this time with the CLASH Champion, “Ace High” Cameron Skyy. Drew attempts to get into the head of the two time champion heading into his huge championship match vs. Dragon Kreed this weekend. Get a better understanding of the “Ace High” as Cameron Skyy steps into the “Wrestler Spotlight!”

R.DREW: What was sweeter, winning the championship for the first time or the second?
SKYY: Well, the first time always is special. However, the second win is most definitely more cherishable to me considering the wild roller coaster ride of events between Jack Night and I leading to Seize The Day II.

R.DREW: What has been the greatest moment of your career thusfar?
SKYY: January 5, 2008 (Seize The Day). It was my first event with CLASH Wrestling, and my match opened up the show to qualify to get into the main event. Concluded in my first title win. However, just the pre-match jitters before I went out the CLASH Curtain for the first time was memorable to me.

R.DREW: Do you have any superstitions, or things you must do before a match?
SKYY: Before a match, you can find me in the back doing my push-ups, squats, and getting myself mentally prepared to shoot out that curtain.

R.DREW: What drew you to CLASH Wrestling?
SKYY: CLASH harbors some of the best talent here in Michigan. It’s important in life to challenge yourself, hence the reason why I joined this company.

R.DREW: At what point in your life did you know you wanted to be a professional wrestler?

SKYY: In the womb…just kidding. But, seriously, I was doing elbow drops to my mother when she was pregnant with my sister around 4 years of age. Always watched it since then, had many role models, and well my curiosity for the business led me into it.

R.DREW: What did you want to do, before you decided to go into pro wrestling?

SKYY: Well, we all have goals, and even today I’m still pursuing those that are not wrestling-related. I majored in Communications, and minored in Marketing, I always wanted to get into the Marketing aspect of a business which would hopefully lead me to doing something with professional wrestling. However instead of Marketing it, I just became one, ha!

R.DREW: What do you do when your not wrestling, or preparing for a match?

SKYY: I’m in the gym 4-5 days a week for 2-3 hours each day. Spend time with friends, poker parties and livin’ it up!

R.DREW: CLASH turned 1 year old in January, give me one word to describe your feelings, being that you’ve been here since day one?

SKYY: Exhilarating

R.DREW: What type of music you listen to?

SKYY: Mostly Rock and Alternative.

R.DREW: Do you have a favorite food?
SKYY: I eat ALOT of Subway.

R.DREW: What’s your favorite CLASH event thus far?

SKYY: This past January in Mt. Clemens was a hell of a ride. A whole new area, large venue, and tons of people.

R.DREW: Do you have a favorite match?
SKYY: I would say both matches from both respective Seize The Day events were my favorite. Not only due to both title wins, but both matches in general from the Fatal Four Way in ‘08, and my bout with Jack Night in ‘09 were both great matches.

Column: John Striker Offers His Latest “Pillar To Post”

March 24, 2009

Greetings from the Motor City , and welcome to another great edition of “Pillar to Post.”  I am your benevolent host, John “GQ Assassin is jealous of my good looks” Striker.

Last Minute Notice
Last Minute Notice was a great show, as expected.  GQ Assassin and Rave K. capturing the Tag Titles once again was sure to be a highlight for those in attendance.  I think this third title win finally and truly cements the Friends as the dominant tag team in CLASH, past or present.

One thing I have to wonder though, is who’s going to step up and challenge for those belts?  The CLASH Tag Team division is currently suffering, what with the departure of Steff O’Riley, the splitting of Wreckingforce, the injury sustained by the Blue Ranger, and the disintegration of the H3RD.

Of course superior teams breed superior competition.  I’ve got wind that both the Brothers Fusion, who traveled to CLASH to see what the buzz was about, and Danny Danger and Josh Thor have the CLASH Tag Team Titles on their minds.

CLASH Wrestling – Fountain of Youth?
I met the sweetest lady at Last Minute Notice.  She was of a more advanced age, probably sixty to sixty-five or older.  The show had just gone to intermission when she comes up to me and says, “Is Ace High single?”  I respond, and I’m sorry to break the news to the thirteen year olds reading this hoping one day to marry the champ, “No, he’s not.”  “Oh, that’s too bad,” says the woman “He’s so sexy!”

I couldn’t help but laugh.  I mean, think of it.  Cameron Skyy, partying out in Vegas, hitting all the clubs and hot spots… with a sixty five year old woman on his arm.  Luckily, instead of slapping me, the lady was laughing too.  She returned to her seat and laughed and giggled with her friends like she was a teenager.  My “This lady is crazy” notion turned to “Aww, that’s cool that she can have such fun with something like this”.  And really, isn’t that what it’s all about?  At the end of the day, you can hate Jack Night and love J. Miller but what’s most important of all is that if you come to a CLASH show, you will have fun.

Double Shot Weekend
So CLASH is doing a double shot this weekend, with shows in BOTH Gibraltar Trade Centers.  I do wonder why they are called the Gibraltar Trade Center when neither is actually in Gibraltar. Raven will be on hand for both shows, which is always a plus.  Raven is an intelligent and humorous personality both in and out of the ring. Those of you that listen to CLASH Radio, which ought to be all of you, can imagine what fun we had recording with Raven.  It won’t be all fun and games though, there will be some serious matches taking place.  Aside from Raven’s matches against Wreckingball and Tommy Tydie we also get to see J. Miller in action as well as Kreed and Ace High teaming on Saturday and facing off for the CLASH Championship on Sunday.  I know I am going to be so pumped up it’s like I had a double shot of espresso. Oh, double shot weekend… those marketing people are genius!

Bigger and Better Things
Speaking of genius, I have to tip my hat to the CLASH board of directors and Jeremy Jones.  I know Jones can be a bit of an odd character, but he’s leading CLASH in the right direction.  I’m proud to be a part of CLASH.  We’ve got Raven, we’ve had Scotty 2 Hotty, Marty Jannetty, and Shark Boy.  We expanded to run shows not only at the home base of Taylor Town Trade Center but also in Livonia , Rockwood, Mt. Clemens, Dirtfest, the Downriver Cruise, and both Gibraltar Trade Center’s in one weekend!

I really don’t mean to sound like a lackey of the board of directors when I say expect big things from CLASH.  We’re redefining wrestling in Michigan and the whole Midwest region.  These are exciting times we’re a part of and I just have to encourage everyone to be a part of it!

Until next time, folks, I’ll be at the Chinese Buffet… see ya!
