CLASH Newswire For The Week Of Dec. 28th, 2008

December 30, 2008

Welcome to the CLASH Wrestling Newswire for the week of December 28th, 2008. We are just a few days removed from what was the final CLASH Wrestling LIVE event of 2008 and what an event it was! Year 2008 certainly ended with a bang as SKYY passed the final test, SEIZE THE DAY II Matches were decided, and a wild conclusion involving 10 men left CLASH fans on the end of their seats! We have many newstories to cover this week, but let us remind you of what’s to come!  In less than 2 weeks, CLASH Wrestling brings you the biggest event of 2009 as we cordially invite you to join us for where it all began 1 Year Ago – SEIZE THE DAY II – on SATURDAY, JANUARY 10, 2009!

Tickets for this CLASH Wrestling 1 Year Anniversary SUPERSHOW event are only $10 (see Pricing Schedule on the Information Tab of CLASHWRESTLING.COM for all event pricing). If you’ve never experienced CLASH Wrestling, this is your chance to experience the excitement LIVE in TAYLOR, MI on 1/10/09! Join the CLASH Revolution and SEIZE THE DAY to kick off 2009!

- IS THE “FORCE” WEAK IN THE WRECKING-FORCE? What was suppose to kick off with the contract signing for the 30 minute Ironman Match between H3RD and the FRIENDS for the Tag Team Championship was interrupted by DRAGON KREED and the WRECKINGBALL venting their frustration toward one another!  As each man blamed one another for their faults, WRECKINGBALL challenged KREED to a match at SEIZE THE DAY II.  CLASH CEO JEREMY JONES halted the bickering with the announcement of the two working in a triple threat match against CAMERON SKYY for the #1 Contendership!

After a failed attempt of working together giving SKYY the victory over KREED with a small package, KREED got on the mic and accepted the challenge!  In what will be in essence “the BIGGEST match” in CLASH History, these two titans – DRAGON KREED and WRECKINGBALL – will CLASH at SEIZE THE DAY II in TAYLOR, MI on 1/10/09!

- CAMERON SKYY vs. JACK NIGHT (CLASH CHAMPIONSHIP) In the epic rematch for the CLASH Championship, since being defeated by JACK NIGHT on 11/8, CAMERON SKYY will take on JACK NIGHT for the most coveted title in this business – the CLASH Championship!  As many feel the rematch has been long overdue, SKYY has weaved in and out and “aced” the tests JONES has layed out for him to earn the rematch!  So it all comes to a head on 1/10 – who will snatch the opportunity?  Can SKYY SEIZE THE DAY for his second year in a row, or will “Carpe Diem” have a new meaning for the “ROLE MODEL” JACK NIGHT?  Join us at SEIZE THE DAY II for the result!

- 30 GRUELING MINUTES – IRONMAN MATCH TO DETERMINE TAG CHAMPIONSHIP!   It is set in stone. In one of the greatest rivalries in CLASH Wrestling stemming since May 2008, the H3RD (TOMMY TYDIE & J. MILLER) and the FRIENDS (GQ ASSASSIN & RAVE KILLBOURN) will do battle once more for one illustrious half-hour to determine the TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP and who really is the dominant tag team in CLASH Wrestling!

Two teams, bound by hatred and the CLASH Gold will come to a head in the final battle as the challengers, the FRIENDS take on the champions, H3RD (c) at SEIZE THE DAY II!  Only one team will have their hands raised, and their quest realized while the other team will be expended, and breathe loneliness with the absence of the CLASH Tag Team Championship.  Who will walk out after the 30 Minute Ironman Match as Champions, who will SEIZE THE DAY?  Find out on 1/10/09!

- SWAGGER MEETS THE T-TRAIN!  The hatred that has long stemmed since August 2008 between “SWAGG STARR” DAVE MANZO and “T-TRAIN” TYLER ELKINS will culminate in less than 2 weeks at SEIZE THE DAY II!  We’ve seen these two battle it out in an MMA bout in September, a seemingly mended friendship betrayal in November, and with this past week’s “Special Referee” scenario has really heated things up between these two athletes.  In one of the biggest grudge matches on the card, it will be a straight wrestling match – one on one – DAVE MANZO vs. TYLER ELKINS.  Who will have their hand raised?

- VENDETTA ACCEPTS CALHOUN’S CHALLENGE FOR SEIZE THE DAY II! With KEITH CALHOUN’s recent frustration leading to many in attendance forming a strong dislike for the veteran, WILL VENDETTA has seemingly been on the receiving end of his venting in a physical manner.  With the challenge accepted, WILL VENDETTA and KEITH CALHOUN look to now vent their frustration against one another at the biggest event of the year – SEIZE THE DAY II!- DANNY DANGER & JOSH THOR RETURN AT SEIZE THE DAY II! Don’t miss this night of in-ring returns as the fan favorite DANNY DANGER & JOSH THOR return to square off against the REF-TILES (STEFF O’RILEY & KHAMELEON)!  Both teams plan to make their mark in history in a good way and what other event to do it at then SEIZE THE DAY II!  Stay with CLASHWRESTLING.COM for ground breaking announcements on the upcoming 1 Year Anniversary Event and what everyone is raving about in TAYLOR, MI on 1/10/09!

- 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY AWARD CEREMONY, JANUARY 9, 2008! For those interested, the eve of SEIZE THE DAY II, CLASH WRESTLING will host the 1 Year Anniversary Award Ceremony in RIVERVIEW, MI!  This five hour black tie event will honor the MATCH, TAG TEAM, WRESTLER of the year and more accompanied with a live DJ, dancing, etc.  Please visit CLASHWRESTLING.COM for the details on our front page and email us at CONTACTCLASH@GMAIL.COM or shoot a message to MYSPACE.COM/CLASHWRESTLING if you intend on attending!  Admission for this ceremony is $15 for the first 75.  This will include all costs and an open bar.

CLASH Newswire For The Week Of Dec. 21st, 2008

December 25, 2008

Welcome to the CLASH Wrestling Newswire for the week of December 21st, 2008. We are just a few days removed from FRIDAY NIGHT FURY (X-Mas Edition) in TAYLOR, MI this past Friday, December 19th and what an event it was! Despite poor weather conditions this past Friday, CLASH pursued by holding the final Friday Night Fury of the year. As many returned to the ring, history was made as the H3RD became Tag Team Champions for the third time! We have many newstories to cover this week, but let us remind you of the FINAL CLASH WRESTLING LIVE EVENT OF THE YEAR this SATURDAY NIGHT, DECEMBER 27TH in TAYLOR, MI at the Taylortown Trade Center with a 7PM Belltime!

Tickets for this CLASH Wrestling LIVE event are only $8 (see Pricing Schedule on the Information Tab of CLASHWRESTLING.COM for all event pricing). If you’ve never experienced CLASH Wrestling, this is your chance to experience the excitement LIVE in TAYLOR, MI on 12/27!

-H”3″RD WIN TAG TITLES! This past Friday Night, history was made as the “3″ in H3RD will be synonymous with 3-Time Tag Team Champions – TOMMY TYDIE & J. MILLER! In a huge victory over WRECKING-FORCE, REF-TILES and the FRIENDS, the H3RD look to kick off 2009 with a good note! One must wonder since it has already been announced on CLASHWRESTLING.COM that FRIENDS will face the H3RD at SEIZE THE DAY II for one last time – will the Tag Team straps now be up for grabs for the two teams that have cemented Tag Team Wrestling in CLASH? We’ll find out THIS SATURDAY NIGHT in TAYLOR, MI!

- SKYY ACES THE TEST WITH A VICTORY! As CLASH CEO JEREMY JONES continues to put road blocks in front of CAMERON SKYY, SKYY yet again “aced” one of JONES numerous tests by defeating returning WSX/ROH Star “MDOGG20″ MATT CROSS! After a strong victory, JONES informed SKYY that there was indeed ONE MORE TEST which will be SKYY’s biggest challenge to date! What will it be? JONES has saved this surprise until SATURDAY, 12/27 in TAYLOR, MI!

- JACK NIGHT PUTS THE “RED LIGHT” ON WILL VENDETTA: As WILL VENDETTA challenged “ROLE MODEL” JACK NIGHT (c) for the CLASH Championship, NIGHT successfully defeated VENDETTA in his 2nd title defense! Unfortunately for VENDETTA, green did not mean go. However, as we’ve been following, CAMERON SKYY seems to be hot on NIGHT’s trail for the CLASH Championship should he pass his final test. This could put SKYY vs. NIGHT at SEIZE THE DAY II for the coveted CLASH Championship! What will that challenge be AND will NIGHT have any part in it?

- MANZO “SWAGGS” HIS WAY TO VICTORY IN RETURN MATCH: In his in-ring return since last competing on 11/8 in Taylor, MI when he betrayed TYLER ELKINS, “SWAGG STARR” DAVE MANZO made his presence known as he made short work of GREEN RANGER. Before things got under way, MANZO had not so kind words to say about ELKINS since the heat between the two initiated this past August at ALL OUT WAR! Since MANZO vs. ELKINS has been announced for SEIZE THE DAY II, MANZO sounded very confident that his SWAGG-Self would be victorious.

Later that evening, it was DAVE MANZO causing an additional distraction to TYLER ELKINS aiding to KEITH CALHOUN picking up the win! With all the bitterness between these two, especially after more insult with COACH B’s antagonist joke by offering ELKINS an electric shaver for Christmas this past week, what will happen when these two collide at SEIZE THE DAY? We have one more LIVE event left and both competitors are scheduled to be in the house, who will look stronger going into the new year, find out this SATURDAY NIGHT!

- “THE FUTUR3″ MAKES REFERENCE TO “PAST” SKULL WILLIAMS: As seen here on CLASHWRESTLING.COM and noted in previous Newswires, SEIZE THE DAY II marks the return of “THE PUNISHER” SKULL WILLIAMS! However, this past Friday night, “THE FUTUR3″ MIKE DANIELS made it known that he was not excited about his return. In retrospect, SKULL WILLIAMS last match he competed in was against MIKE DANIELS back in July of this year at an event called GRAPPLEGANZA.

GRAPPLEGANZA Music Video from July 2008:

Will SKULL WILLIAMS respond to MIKE DANIELS? Is there still heat that exists between the two since SKULL’s departure? Only way to find out is THIS SATURDAY, 12/27!

-SATURDAY, 12/27 – FINAL SHOW OF 2008!

Column: “Wrestler Spotlight” w/ R. Drew & Dave Manzo

December 25, 2008

CLASH Wrestling’s ringside photographer R. Drew presents the “Wrestler Spotlight” w/ “Swagg Starr” Dave Manzo. In his first interview, R. Drew targets the recently transformed “Swagg Starr” Dave Manzo. Drew attempts to get into the head of the once decorated athlete and asks a number of tough questions. Get a better understanding of Dave Manzo, his new obsession with “swag”, and a number of other interesting issues as Manzo steps into the “Wrestler Spotlight!”

R.DREW: Who is the “Swagg Starr” Dave Manzo?
SWAGG STARR: The “Swagg Starr” Dave Manzo is the man with the most swagger in the world. He is the biggest partier, the man that gets any girl he wants, and yes he is still the best athlete ever created on this earth.

R.DREW: How does the “Swagg Starr” differ from the “All American”?
SWAGG STARR: Because this is Dave Manzo in his true form. Yeah he is still the athlete that the All American was, but his collegiate and semi-pro sports years are done with, and his main focus is now club/bar hoppin, pickin up the ladies, and havin a few cocktails.

R.DREW: What do you do when your not in the ring, or training for a match?
SWAGG STARR: Outside the squared circle, or the swagged circle as I call it, I’m gettin my swell on at the gym, to keep my body lookin finess, and at night I’m in the top bars/clubs around the country. Living the dream of being the sexiest and swaggest man in the world.

R.DREW: What are some of your hobbies?
SWAGG STARR: Hockey, yoga, makin music, pickin up any girl I choose, and shopping for the best clothing money can buy, at the best stores in the world.

R.DREW: What type of music do you listen to?
SWAGG STARR: Rap, Hip-Hop, and R&B,  the only music that matters.

R.DREW: Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
SWAGG STARR: Tupac Shakur. He was a genius, an entrepreneur, and the best rapper to have ever lived. He was the definition of having Swagger before it was kool.

R.DREW: At what age did you know you wanted to become a pro wrestler? Who were some of the wrestlers who influenced your career?
SWAGG STARR: I knew I wanted to become a pro wrestler at age 13. I was a premiere hockey player all my life, but I had a passion for wrestling. Some wrestlers that influenced me were, Eddie Guerrero, Owen Hart, Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair.

R.DREW: Do you have any superstitions, or things you must do before a match?
SWAGG STARR: I must do my hair, put on my Oakley stunner shades, and put on one of my many expensive Calvin Klein, Armani, Banana Republic ect. suits that are in my closet.

R.DREW: Do you have a favorite match?
SWAGG STARR: All the ones I’m in, because I am the most amazing wrestler in the business, hands down.

R.DREW: How about your favorite opponent?
SWAGG STARR: The Green Ranger, because he’s a hell of a wrestler, a jam-up guy, and a serious professional. Now all he needs is to buy some new gear, and he’ll actually be worthy enough to step in the ring with me.

R.DREW: What was your greatest moment in your career thus far?
SWAGG STARR: Seize The Day I, being in the opening match of the first ever CLASH Wrestling show on January 5th, 2008.

R.DREW: What has been the worst injury you’ve sustained thus far in your career?
SWAGG STARR: That’s for me to know, and no one to find out. I’m not going to unveil any weaknesses.. not that I have any.

R.DREW: Finally, how long have you known Coach B.?
SWAGG STARR: Well first of all, you and everybody else will now call him ”B”. He is my personal image consultant & swag coach, and my best wingman for the nightlife. I’ve known B for 7 years. Now do your job monkey, and ”bow down” to your ”Royal Swaggness”! I’m out,  deuces.

Column: “Pillar To Post” with John Striker

December 25, 2008

Greeting CLASH fans, John Striker writing to you here as we finish out the year and look ahead to 2009.  Yes, 2008 is ending but as one thing ends, another begins.  2009 offers many new and exciting possibilities.  We’ve got a new president of the United States and, I’m proud to present, a new column right here on CLASHWRESTLING.COM! Yes, that’s right, this is merely the first installment of “Pillar To Post”, i.e. what will become the greatest column and your favorite source of news, insights, opinions, and all the excitement that is CLASH Wrestling.

CEO Jeremy Jones knows that I am a student of the game and has been so impressed with my insights and knowledge that he has contracted me (and is paying quite well) to share some of my views with you, the CLASH fans.  With that goal in mind, let’s look at a few topics that I find of particular interest given the current state of affairs here in CLASH.

JONE’S CHALLENGE
How great was it to see “MDogg20″ Matt Cross, back in a CLASH ring?  For those that don’t know, Matt Cross is an international star, actually achieving the greatest fame of his career in Spain.  He’s wrestled in Japan, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Canada and more.  Friday, Jeremy Jones thought he had found the right man to end Cameron Skyy’s quest for the CLASH Championship when he set MDogg20 against Skyy.  I certainly have to give it to Cameron, though, as he showed why he is among the best wrestlers in the world by defeating Matt Cross in the center of the ring.

One has to wonder what Jones has in mind for Cameron next Saturday.  After seeing the fire in his eyes last Friday, I am of the opinion that Skyy can overcome anything or anyone that Jones throws at him.

WILL DANIEL’S BE PUNISHED?
Mike Daniels refused to wrestle anyone until he gets his shot at “Punisher” Skull Williams.  These two share a hatred that is rare in this world, and I have to believe that it won’t be very long at all before these two meet in a CLASH ring.  With both men coming off injuries, you know there will be plenty of pent up aggression that will add an extra spark to any match they may have.  Jeremy Jones would have to be blind to not see the potential in this match.

“CLASH” OF THE TITANS
Wreckingforce seems to be in troubled waters as the team virtually imploded on Friday.  If you ask me, that’s a good thing for Wreckingforce.  Yes, I take the controversial stance that Wreckingball and Dragon Kreed are better off alone then as a team.  Hear me out before you commit me to the mental institution.  Wreckingball and Kreed have often seemed like a dominant tag team, sure, but they failed to win the Tag Titles.  Wreckingball proved that he can make it as a single wrestler both by winning the single night tournament a few weeks back and by taking “Ace High” Cameron Skyy to the limit for the CLASH Championship.  Dragon Kreed is the most powerful man in CLASH, hands down, but it seems as if he’s been floundering lately, with a lack of mental determination and clarity.  Friday, in his arguing with Wreckingball, I saw the side of Kreed that has the potential to win the CLASH Championship.  If Kreed can get his mind on the right track, I don’t know that anyone can stop him.

ONE LAST MATCH
You have to feel sorry for the Reftiles, Steff O’Riley and Khameleon, who went from an exhilarating emotional high to a devastating emotional low in less than a month.  But this is where some of the best tag teams in the world call home.  At Seize the Day II, on January 10th, we’ve got, in my very humble opinion, the two best tag teams in CLASH Wrestling and four future CLASH Champions battling it out in what I know will be an absolute stellar match.  These two teams have a history of stealing the show and I think they’ve been saving the best for last.  This match has the potential to make Seize the Day II the best show in CLASH history, single-handedly.  This is a match that is sure to be on “The Best of Clash Wrestling: Volume 4”.  Speaking of “The Best of CLASH Wrestling” Volumes 1-3 are available now, and should definitely be purchased immediately.  In addition to the absolute best wrestling around, you get to experience the commentary styling of yours truly, which is sure to be an experience unto itself.

Alright, that’s the top four things on my mind today.  Feel free to share your opinions and help shape the direction of my column by leaving me feedback in the CLASH forums.  Don’t forget to listen to CLASH Radio and stop by and chat with Brooke, Adam, and myself at the our radio booth at each and every CLASH event
