Without question, the biggest news coming out of Saturday’s show was the crowning of Tommy Tydie as the winner of the 2008 Triple Crown Cup Tournament. In the finals, Tydie defeated GQ Assassin and Dave Manzo to capture the trophy and the cash prize. A more detailed recap of the show can be read here. After the match, Tydie celebrated in grand fashion before Will Vendetta entered the ring. This was the first time these two men stood face to face since March 8th, when Tydie faked a phone call claiming Will’s grandmother was rushed to a hospital. On this day, Will was able to keep his cool, but April 4th will be a different story!! The rivalry between these two has been brewing for 3 months now and April 4th in Rockwood is the next chapter!! It will be Tydie & Joseph T. Storm teaming up to take on Will Vendetta and his partner Steff O’Riley!! Steff and JTS have a war raging between themselves. It’s two of the hottest feuds in CLASH and it’s in ONE MATCH on April 4th!! It’s going to be an action packed tag team grudge match when Tydie & JTS take on Will & Steff!!

The other story worthy of headlines from Saturday’s show was the return of Rave Killbourn. Earlier in the show, it was announced that Rave was unable to be cleared by a physician, therefore could not compete in the Triple Crown Cup Tournament. This obviously turned out to be a swerve, as right before the bell of the first Round 1 Match, Rave Killbourn came from underneath the ring and blasted Jack Night in the head with a Singapore Cane!! Neither Jack nor Rave were victorious on this night, but April 4 will have a different outcome!! One man will be the winner when JACK NIGHT and RAVE KILLBOURN face off in a NO DISQUALIFICATION MATCH in Rockwood!! If Tydie and Vendetta taught us anything at the Great Aggression, it’s that ANYTHING can happen in a match like this one! Is the Rockwood Community Center big enough to contain Jack and Rave?? What lengths will these two men go to injure one another!?! It’s going to be a WILD BRAWL in ROCKWOOD on FRIDAY NIGHT, APRIL 4TH!! Who’s going to walk out the winner? Join us on the 4th, and find out!!

The debate between Cameron Skyy and J. Miller continued at the Triple Crown Cup and certainly got heated!! Both men discussed their desire to be CLASH Champion and their match on April 4th! From their wrestling style, to their appearance, to their attitude – these two men couldn’t be any different from one another. But it all comes to a head in Rockwood, when they face off, one on one, for the VERY FIRST TIME EVER!! Who’s going to walk out of Rockwood the champion? One thing’s for certain – this match will be a CLASH classic!! It’s the ACE HIGH versus the MURDEROUS MONK for the CLASH CHAMPIONSHIP on APRIL 4TH!! You gotta be there!!

Detailed Results From 2008 Triple Crown Cup

March 29, 2008

This past Saturday night, CLASH Wrestling presented the 2008 Triple Crown Cup Tournament and over 220 CLASH fans packed the Taylor Town Trade Center to witness the event! The 08′ Triple Crown Cup will be remembered for it’s fast paced, high flying, and absolutely off the charts action!! When the night was said and done, everyone in attendance agreed that the show certainly lived up to, and exceeded, all expectations!

In the opening bout of the night, CLASH’s newest wrestler, Dragan Kreed took on the ultra-quick Khameleon. Despite his speed advantage, Khameleon was no match for Kreed on this night and quickly fell to a sitout powerbomb by the debuting newcomer.

To kick start the Triple Crown Cup Tournament, Nicholas Clastertone asked all 9 competitors to enter the ring and pose for a photograph with the Triple Crown Cup Trophy and a large check for $3333.33. It was at this point at Clashertone announced Rave Killbourn had yet to gain medical clearance, and that a replacement was found and would be utilized if Rave could not perform.

In the first Triple Crown Cup Round 1 Match (Remember, all matches were held at random), “The All American” Dave Manzo and Jack Night made their way to the ring. It was at this point that Rave Killbourn’s music played throughout the loud speakers. Castor Strong and Jack Night were seen laughing, thinking that Rave was still at home. Moments later, Rave Killbourn made his miracalous return, coming from underneath the ring to wallop Jack Night in the back of the head with singapore cane. During the match. Rave and Jack fought tooth and nail trying to injure one another. Dave Manzo used this to his advantage, catching Killbourn off guard and scoring a quick pinfall on the “Modern Day Outlaw.”

In the second first round match of the evening, CLASH Champion “Ace High” Cameron Skyy took on Tommy Tydie and the #1 contender to his championship, J. Miller. All three men were extremely focused on winning the matchup and brought everything they had to the contest. In the end, Tydie was able to counter a go behind by J. Miller and push the “Muderous Monk” into Cameron Skyy and get the victory.

The final first round match of the Triple Crown Cup Tournament, three fan favorites battled in a match that, despite any outcome, would have sent the CLASH crowd home happy. GQ Assassin, Skull Williams, and Will Vendetta fought tooth and nail for the third in final spot in the finals of the Tournament. In the end, GQ Assassin was able to counter Skull’s Final Revenger into to Stunner to be the third man in the Triple Crown Cup finals.

After intermission, fans were treated to a Non-Tournament match between Joseph T. Storm and Steff O’Riley. With the CLASH fans solidly in his corner, Steff fought back from a prematch attack by JTS. During the bout JTS used his size and strength to keep Steff down, but the irish competitor was able to mount a comeback and almost had the match won until Jeremy Jones pulled him out of the ring. O’Riley and Jones then started to push one another, culminating in Steff reaching back and punching Jones in the face. With his back turned, Steff was caught in a new submission by JTS and forced to tap out.

Right before the Main Event of the evening, Cameron Skyy made his way to the ring to discuss his upcoming match with J. Miller on April 4th in Rockwood. Before the “Ace High” could make his feelings known, Miller also came to the ring to offer his view on the subject matter. After repeated verbal attacks on the Taylor crowd by Miller, Cameron Skyy riled the ringside fans into a frenzy by offering a handful of free tickets to the Rockwood event. Without question, the Taylor crowd is solidly behind Skyy in this championship matchup on Friday, April 4th.

In was then time for the Main Event of the evening, the finals of the 2008 Triple Crown Cup Tournament – where the winner walked away with not only the triple crown cup trophy, but with $3333.33 in cold hard cash. Dave Manzo, Tommy Tydie, and GQ Assassin made their ways to the ring and were introduced to the Taylor crowd. Right before the bell rang, in a sign of respect, the ringside fans tossed CLASH colored streamers into the ring. This main event has to be seen to be believed! All three men put their bodies on the line to in an effort to walk away the victor. In the end, it looked as if GQ Assassin had the match won, hitting a Stunner on Dave Manzo as he crawled his way to make the cover. Just before GQ got to Manzo, Tommy Tydie rushed back into the ring and rolled GQ up in an Oklahoma Roll to score the victory. Tommy Tydie was victorious and crowned the winner of the 2008 Triple Crown Cup Tournament!!

Tydie celebrated in grand fashion before Will Vendetta entered the ring. This was the first time these two men stood face to face since March 8th, when Tydie faked a phone call claiming Will’s grandmother was rushed to a hospital. Since interference was barred on this day, Tommy Tydie begged Will Vendetta to hit him, in an attempt to get Will suspended. Tydie and Vendetta stood face to face, before Tydie backed away and left Will, alone, inside the ring. Without question, the war between these two continues to heat up, nearly 3 months after it began.

Wrestlers/Staff React To CLASH Television News
March 18th, 2008

The past 4 days here at CLASH Wrestling have been a time of celebration. Not only is everyone excited for this weekend’s HUGE Triple Crown Cup supershow, but with the announcement of our partnership with Comcast Cable Downriver, fans, staff, and wrestlers alike could not be any happier.

CLASH Wrestling debuts on Comcast Cable THIS WEDNESDAY NIGHT at 10:30 PM in nineteen cities Downriver. The new television series will air weekly on Wednesday nights from 10:30-11:00pm ET/PT thereafter. Over the weekend, we at CLASHWRESTLING.COM took the time to ask members of CLASH Wrestling their thoughts on the matter.

QUESTION: “It was announced this past week that CLASH Wrestling will now air weekly, on Wednesday nights at 10:30 PM, on Comcast Cable in nineteen different cities Downriver. What’s you’re reaction to this news?”

CLASH CHAMPION “ACE HIGH” CAMERON SKYY: “Awesome. Definitely a huge move for CLASH Wrestling as CLASH continues to differentiate itself from the competition. I’m extremely impressed with how far CLASH has advanced in such a short period of time and I hope that this is only the beginning. I take great pride in the CLASH Championship and being with a company that has and will continue to be in a positive trend!”

COMMENTATOR J ARGE: “I was the first to receive this news from Clashertone himself, and I’ll say what I told him; ‘It will be an honor to lend my golden vocals and quick wit to the commentating booth.’ Even though I’m being told that I will have to broadcast alongside Keith (blah). CLASH definitely deserves all good things to come our way. In closing…..Serves’ Us Right!”

EXECUTIVE OFFICER NICHOLAS CLASHERTONE: “Like I said on Wednesday, we are very excited to join Comcast Cable Downriver and help expand the fan base of CLASH Wrestling. Airing on 19 cities Downriver will allow fans all across Southeastern Michigan a chance to see what CLASH Wrestling brings to the table. This is just the next step in the growth of CLASH Wrestling.”

CONFETTI: “They’re lucky, because I don’t think anybody deserves to watch me wrestle. And as far as the other wrestlers in CLASH, I don’t think they even deserve to be on the same roster as me.”

WILL VENDETTA: “I was completely speechless. I mean, if I was told one year ago sitting in my classroom in High school that I would be on TV and wrestling for one of the fastest rising Wrestling Promotions in Michigan, I wouldnt have believed one word of it. I can honestly say that this is a dream come true and I thank God for it.”

CROSSFIRE: “Kicking back in Long Beach, I got a phone call from the CLASH execs, telling me that I’m gonna be a television star. Actually, I’m not sure whether to believe them or not, what with all the ‘Oh yeah Crossfire you’re gonna be the next BIG thing in CLASH,’ and ‘Don’t forget your gear Crossfire because you might just maybe potentially have a match tonight.’ Or the ever popular ‘Come on Crossfire, Khameleon’s parents are here tonight. Just let him have a match.’ If this TV stuff is for real I can only express my hopes for getting booked!”

JEREMY JONES: “I was very impressed with Clashertone’s deal with Comcast. In fact, I was trying to do the very same thing. I have to admit that I’m surprised Clashertone managed to get the deal before me, as I’m a much more educated/respected man in the world of advertising and promotion. I guess it’s they always say; ‘Great minds think alike,’ even if I did think of it first.”

TOMMY TYDIE: “It’s cool man, I’m excited for it. Actually, everyone living Downriver should be more excited because they once again get to tune into TFTV. I’ve been on television for years now, all across the world. It’s a thrill, having some scrubby fan recognize you from television. Unlike myself, these punk kids in CLASH have never had that before. But it is exciting, I knew when CLASH started our audience would continue to grow. With a talent the caliber of myself on the roster, there was no way it wasn’t going to.”

GQ ASSASSIN: “Huge news and a huge step in the right direction for CLASH as a whole. I can speak for most of the guys when I say that we can’t wait to entertain the masses, and provide great wrestling entertainment for the whole family to see.”

“PUNISHER” SKULL WILLIAMS: “I was, at first, taken back by the fact that Clashertone secured a TV deal. Now that I’ve been told by a few of the guys, I can only say that this is a HUGE step for us at CLASH. This is only the first step, I know that we will blow up in only a matter of time. I can’t wait to get out there and show the whole world what we’re made of.”

MERCHANDISE/CAMERA GIRL MELANIE: “This is just one more step in the right direction for CLASH. With a great roster and crew putting forth such amazing teamwork CLASH has grown with each passing week. At this rate, the sky is the limit.”

CASTOR STRONG: “CLASH on Comcast means one thing and one thing only. On Wednesday nights everyone gets their dose of the “Bringer of Ruckus”. And that my friends is well worth the price of admission. If you want to be mentally stimulated by fast paced action, jaw jarring moves, and face rearranging holds, Wednesday nights just fulfilled your void. This is monumental, this is one step closer to greatness, this my friends is….CLASH Wrestling.”

COACH B: “CLASH Wrestling on televison, who would’ve thought that you could hear my whistle all the way from Taylor Town into 19 different cities? To be honest with you, this is like living my dream. The wrasslin business has been in my heart and soul since about 7th grade. And to be involved in something like this, it’s unbelieveable, just make sure you stay tuned to see Coach B and The All American dominate the land of CLASH!”
